2025 Toyota Corolla Review
Engine & Performance
The 2025 Toyota Corolla is packed with a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission, also known as CVT. This engine allows both the Corolla hatchback and sedan to have a great overall ride quality without losing out on too much acceleration. Instead of zooming through traffic and lanes at the speed of a Ferrari, the Corolla knows what it is good at and excels at handling bumps, rocky roads, and slippery slopes thanks to its available AWD. The biggest difference between the Corolla SE and XSE trims are the larger 18-inch wheels and sports-tuned transmission on the XSE.
In terms of speed and acceleration, you can expect a 0-60mph time of around 8.3 seconds. The Toyota Corolla has been known for decades as one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles available in the car industry and that is still the case today. The non-hybrid variant is EPA estimated to earn 36 mpg city and 42 mpg on highway. The 2025 Toyota Corolla hybrid variant is expected to get 53 mpg city and 46 mpg highway.
